Spring Break Staycation: West Michigan Edition
Spring Break is an exciting time of year in West Michigan! We are all ready for a little break from our typical winter weather, and heading down south to a warmer climate sounds amazing. However, there is PLENTY to do in our amazing community for all of us staying around here! Check out these great ideas, below!
1. Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park in Alto, MI:
This amazing wild animal park is opening for Spring Break from April 1-10th! The kids of the Kyle Geenen Group love visiting this zoo all summer long!
2. Grand Rapids Children's Museum in Grand Rapids, MI:
Don't miss the amazing gift that the GR Children's Museum is to our community! Did you hear? There's a new farm growing soon at the museum and it's opening April 1st! Ready to learn more about the museum?
3. Holland Aquatic Center in Holland, MI:
With both preschool and family splash zone times, this is sure to be a BIG hit for all ages of family members. Soak in the warm air and water of this awesome aquatic center just like you would if you were in Florida!
4. Fredrick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MI:
The gardens and sculpture park have extended their hours until 9pm to accomdate all of us staycation friends! There is so much to see, both inside and out, but one of our favorite activities is the Tuesday Night Lights in the Butterfly Gardens.
5. The Critter Barn in Zeeland, MI:
Come see the baby animals being born at The Critter Barn! From chicks to goats, sheep to cows, there are so many animals to learn about and explore! An amazing aspect of The Critter Barn is that it's FREE! The Critter Barn's Spring Fling is happening Tuesday through Sunday from 10a-7p.
6. Outdoor Discovery Center and DeGraaf Nature Center in Holland, MI:
Both of these amazing, outdoor focused spaces provide kids with a sense of peace and serenity as they are exploring nature and wildlife. Visit the Birds of Prey at the Outdoor Discovery Center or take a walk through DeGraaf Nature Center and be inspired by the creation all around us!
7. Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum in Kalamazoo, MI:
Imagine, explore and discover the Air Zoo's flight centers from 9a-5p Monday through Saturday and noon-5p on Sundays. With over 100 rare aircraft, hands on learning, and exhibits teaching all about life in space, your kids will love what the AirZoo has to offer. A Kyle Geenen Group favorite would definitly be the indoor rides at no additional cost!
8. John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, MI:
The zoo is OPEN and the animals are ready to celebrate Spring Break with you! Monday through Friday from 9a-5p, kids and adults can explore the animal exhibits featuring animals from all over the world! John Ball Zoo is featuring two spring break camps for kids of varying ages. And, don't miss their special Super Hero Day on April 7th! Wear your capes and meet your favorite superhero friends as you explore the zoo!
