West Michigan Luxury Real Estate | West Michigan Luxury Homes For Sale

For many of us, it's a dream to own a luxury home - specifically in the incredible West Michigan region. If you're in a position to purchase a luxury home, whether it's for permamnent residence, vacation getaway, or just an additional home, you'll likely look to spend about $500,000 or more depending on your tastes and budget. Luckily for you, West Michigan is a hidden gem full of amazing luxury properties. The trick is deciding which type of property is for you!

There are predominantly 4 different types of luxury properties in West Michigan that you'll have to consider - condo, home with acreage, waterfront, and a home in a luxury neighborhood. Let's break these down so that you can decide which is right for you!

Lakefront Luxury

Lakefront homes bring about benefits such as private or association access, views, and exclusivity. Typically lakefront homes command some type of premium suimply for their incredible location. If you're looking directly on Lake Michigan, you can expect to pay a premium for the privilege of owning that highly coveted piece of real estate. That being said, there are a variety of homes available on lakefront property, from small cottages to expansive estates.

One way of getting the waterfront experience without having to necessarily pay the Lake Michigan premium is to consider a luxury home on an inland lake. Now that being said, you'll still pay a premium for any home on waterfront, but an incredible luxury home on an inland lake is likely to pull at your purse strings a little less than a home on Lake Michigan. You still get the natural beauty of water and many of the same amenities, but at a bit more affordable entry point (and with more ability to keep a boat). Some great examples of this include Lake Macatawa, Georgetown Shores, and Hutchins Lake!

Luxury Condos

For those looking for a more metropolitan or maintenance free lifestyle, a luxury condo might be a better fit! Both Holland and Grand Rapids offer a variety of amazing condo living options. From city high-rises in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids to waterfront condos in Holland, there's something for everyone! Condos give you the ability to have the interior of your dreams, but not have to worry about exterior maintenance and some of the larger expenses like the roof. If the 'set it and forget it' lifestyle is one you enjoy then maybe a condo is an option for you! Great examples of luxury condo living are the Bridgewater Tower and Plaza Towers in Grand Rapids and the Spyglass association on the shores of Lake Michigan in Holland!

Luxury Homes with Acreage

An additional feature that can often drive the price of a property up into the luxury category is simply the amount of land included with the home. If you're fortunate enough to find property with multiple acres attached, you'll find yourself in the unique position to own a meaningful amount of West Michigan. If you love peace, quiet, and privacy or are looking to create the paradise of your dreams, then maybe pursuing an option with acreage could be right for you!

Luxury Neighborhood Home

The last Luxury option that we are going to touch on is a luxury home in a luxury neighborhood. There are a number of incredible neighborhoods with equally incredible homes throughout almost all West Michigan communities that would fall into this category. Think of these as your golf course type communities. While not all luxury neighborhoods will be on a golf course, it's a good way to get the mental image in your head. Communities like Manchester Hills, Railside, and the Ravines are all great examples of luxury neighborhoods with incredible homes!
